JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the complete salvage lifecycle, from inventory management and pre-auction preparation through post-auction reconciliation. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, maintains accurate documentation, and serves as a key liaison between internal departments, law enforcement, financial institutions, and auction participants to facilitate efficient salvage operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Generate monthly salvage in-transit inventory reports, verify status, and maintain updated records.
- Examine in-transit salvage items for closure eligibility, request authorization, and notify adjusters of required actions.
- Execute accuracy analysis and assist in monthly inventory reconciliation.
- Coordinate with the Auto Department and Police authorities regarding stolen vehicle recovery and documentation status.
- Prepare and process authorization forms for seized vehicle disposition.
Manage administrative documentation and process fines payments. - Perform post-inspection assessment of salvage reserves and adjust valuations.
- Validate police inspection observations are accurately displayed at auction.
- Examine auction schedules and vehicle listings to ensure accuracy.
- Ensure all required original documents are complete and on file prior to auction.
- Conduct pre-auction vehicle inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Review sale sheets for accuracy and completion.
Prepare Transfer of Rights documentation for vehicle disposition to auction purchasers. - Prepare comprehensive buyer files with all required transfer documentation for auction purchasers.
- Attend auctions, work at adjudication table, complete sale sheets, and obtain buyer signatures.
- Participate in post-auction reconciliation procedures.
- Ensure all salvage operations comply with company policies and regulations.
Communicate and collaborate with relevant departments; provide regular status updates and escalate issues as needed. - Attend bidders regarding any matters related to salvage sales, documentation, or situations that may arise.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree preferably in Business Administration with one year of experience in the functions described above. Or Associate Degree (60-64 university credits) preferably in Business Administration with two years of experience in the functions described above.
- Experience in insurance salvage operations.
- Knowledge of Puerto Rico insurance regulations and vehicle documentation requirements.
- Valid driver's license.
