JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Answer incoming calls from assigned care stations within 60 seconds of initiation and greet patients warmly and professionally in the patient’s preferred language, English or Spanish. (20%)
  • Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and all necessary permissions and consents. (18%)
  • Record all patient information accurately and completely in the On-Med Command Center Records system, and scan and upload patient identification and insurance cards to the patient record. (15%)
  • Monitor patient volume across all assigned care stations and coordinate care delivery with providers based on call input order so that consultations occur in sequence and without avoidable delay. (12%)
  • Conduct post-visit follow-up calls, confirm that pending needs are delegated and resolved, and document the outcome of every follow-up attempt, including unsuccessful contacts. (12%)
  • Coordinate with the patient’s Primary Care Provider or Primary Medical Group to arrange a follow-up visit within seven (7) days of the care station encounter. (8%)
  • Answer preliminary patient questions about the telehealth process, provide clear instructions on use of the care station, and communicate wait times and status to patients waiting at a station. (8%)
  • Report technology or communication issues with the On-Med, Athena, and Coretek systems to the appropriate technical support resource, and document issues and their resolution for operational continuity across shifts. (3%)
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and handle all patient information with confidentiality, including maintaining a private and secure remote work environment, and route all clinical questions to the treating provider. (2%)
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. (2%)

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent, required. Associate’s degree in healthcare, administrative, or related field, preferred. One (1) or more years of experience in patient registration, call center, customer service, or healthcare administrative support required.
